Bathroom Photoshoot

I know what you may think of the title…. a bathroom photoshoot? That is just odd and WHY?! Well, I thought it would always be interesting to be creative inside a bathroom. To use its surroundings and the tub to create art!

Luckily my talented friend, Anto, was available to help create a new and exciting vision! We decided to venture onto our first idea of having Anto inside the shower, I wanted to capture sensual images that would pair easily with a poem. That was my vision for this shoot. It was also such a challenge not to get the camera wet! Luckily we finally both got comfortable enough to capture some pretty unique angles in the shower.

The second look was an idea Anto had about wearing her pink wig and a used cigarette to create this sensual persona as she gets ready for a night out. I loved that persona she was taking on. I felt that we were able to capture this person she was embodying through the lens. Up to this date (FYI: was Nov 2020) this was honestly the BEST shoot I have done. Be creative, more communicative in direction, and the fact that both model and photographer were able to bounce off ideas was EPIC!

Shortly after this time, I posted to some of the images to my instagram and decided to fully launch myself into taking Sam Dameshek’s online course Academy. I am so HAPPY I went through with it, because I was now exposed to new like-minded photographer’s who were also pursuing their dreams. We are part of this private Facebook group where we can ask questions, share our work, get feedback and interact with each other. To my surprise Sam Dameshek reached out about wanting to re-post my photos onto his Academy Instagram page and I FLIPPED OUT! I could not believe my current photography idol loved these photos and wanted to re-post! I felt like I was receiving a sign that I was on the right track to pursuing my dreams and that my work is actually good.

This sparked my way to keep pursuing the style that I want. My next challenge for my photoshoots was to definitely start shooting in film.
